Stormy blue Mazda MX-5 1.8i Roadster Coupé acquired in October 2007 as a replacement for an MG TF 115 16V. Factory fitted options include leather seats, mesh windstop and mud flaps front & rear.

The roof is automatically folded down and stored within 12 seconds of 'button push'.

Interior has black leather upholstery with the heated seat option.

The standard double DIN CD/Radio has been replaced by a Pioneer AVIC-X1BT system with motorised touchscreen display providing radio, single CD or DVD playback and full satellite navigation capability. The system 'hide-away' unit is located in the lower DIN space below the head unit. The GPS antenna sits below the unused front centre speaker grill on the top of the dash.

A small cubby hole 'fascia' has been fitted in the lower single DIN position into which an internal and external temperature gauge has also been fitted. This gauge also displays the time.

A bluetooth hands free mobile phone adapter, six CD autochanger and iPod interface have been fitted into the glove compartment, all controlled from the Pioneer head unit and touchscreen.

Who needs four cup holders in a two seater - better with an armrest fitted on the centre console

The lack of a variable setting for the intermittent wipe was solved with the fitment of a new wiper 'arm'

Faults

None - the car has been the proverbial 'paragon of virtue'.
