The ICE & SatNav centres around the Pioneer AVIC-X1BT system. Shown here is the head unit in both closed and open configurations. The powered 6.5" touch-screen provides the display for the Satellite Navigation and DVDs and is also the control panel for the radio and single CD/DVD. It also provides the control for a Pioneer CDX-P670 six CD autochanger, Pioneer CD-IB100II iPod Interface Adapter and Pioneer CD-BTB200 handfree bluetooth phone adapter. Installation required a double DIN to single DIN fascia adapter.

The SatNav 'hide-away' instrumentation unit is installed underneath the head unit behind the cubby box in the lower DIN position. The CD Autochanger, iPod interface and bluetooth phone adapter are located in a purpose built cradle in the glovebox. The SatNav GPS receiver antenna is mounted centrally under the speaker grill in the centre of the dashboard - not having the BOSE system fitted means this speaker position is unused. In this position it is afforded a good view of the sky through the windscreen and works well even with the roof up.

The microphone for the phone system is installed just above the windscreen on the drivers side of the interior light unit. An external/internal temperature gauge has been installed in the right hand side of the cubby box in the lower DIN positiion under the head unit. The interior temperature sensor is installed above the sun visor on the passenger side, with the external sensor installed behind the front bumper panel.
